I think Tifa’d man the bar/serving them alcohols while Lebreau does the cafe-area/handling the food. Mista H. is the boss but he just talks on the phone all the time and the customers could like, hear him laughing so hard in the back b/c Phones is irritated at him or s/t idek. Jeez, ew, what is colouring and backgrounds :S

Paradox Season. 

Winter tempted harsh winds and severe storms that year. New Bodhum had boarded up and weather-proofed their houses, reinforcing the stilt foundations, and battening down for the cold that came. As the winds howled outside, the warmth of the cafe was a brief respite for the weary natives who waited out the storm. Lebreau felt time slowly tick away at the hours that became days as she watched the season pass silently from a kitchen window. In the morning, the exhaust from the heaters was palpable enough to prompt her to open a window. The cold seeped in long enough to cause her to close it again, but not without noticing a few stragglers had waited for the cafe to open— undoubtedly to pick up a warm cup of soup before heading out to fish. It was a cruel irony that made the best fishing season coincide with the worst weather conditions Bodhumites had ever known. 
Lebreau practically had to rip the weatherstripping from the hinges of the door to open it for the morning crowd. She let them in early, before the restaurant was officially open. It was going to be another slow day.
“Hot soup, hot coffee, and no snow inside. Come on in, I’ll be open in a few!” She smiled at the two who had been camping outside, waiting for her to unlock the doors. 

A small tinge of horror was hidden inside her bright facade as she noticed the gradient hue of purple creeping up their hands and lips. Had it really been that cold? Surely the heat from the stove would be enough to warm up this pocket of Pulse, but something felt unnatural about the color of the sky. It was the same dark purple glow on the skin of the patrons who walked slowly to the bar. Everything was in order, but something felt out of place.  

Almost as soon as the bartender served their soup and hot drinks, the two travelers began to brighten ever so slightly. Color had returned to their cheeks and their eyes seemed less glazed over. But before she could offer them anything more, she steadily realized these were the forms of Denzel and Fang…

“How can this be!?” Her tone rising with her surprise, “You can’t, I mean… I thought you both went home with the others!”

When they didn’t reply, her shoulders tensed with fear. “That was months ago! Were you waiting out there that whole time!?”

A pair of cold palms reached for her as she stammered to understand how they could have survived the cold without so much as food or shelter from the storms. And then she remembered hearing moaning and light rapping on her shutters in the middle of the night. She gulped in the realization of these sounds, now so clearly in her mind, must have been them asking to get in and get out of the cold. Suddenly, the terror was too much. Lebreau covered her mouth and pulled at her hair, “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry!” 

But it was too late— they were already icicles. She knew it was eerie that they hadn’t responded yet, but this was too much. The lovely young woman and handsome young boy were frozen solid. Forever. 

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!”

Lebreau woke to a cold sweat, upright in her bed, and wiped the nightmare from her eyes. She looked at the glowing digits that read “3:00AM” in the alarm clock at her bedside. Relieved that it had only been a dream, she rolled over and pulled up the coverlet, closing her eyes in the quiet of the night. As she slipped off to sleep again, a gentle tapping started on her window.
